That bad dream you had about "Grown Ups 2" late last year isn't going away. The sequel-to-be has reportedly been given a summer release date of July 12, 2013.
Fred Wolf, the original scribe of the comedian-heavy comedy ("comedy"), is in negotiations to pen the sequel. The 2010 flick reunited "SNL" alums (Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider) with Kevin James, and -- despite critical scorn -- made a pretty penny. "Grown Ups" wound up grossing $271 million worldwide.
Sandler is potentially interested in revisiting his role as one of five dudes who, after the loss of their basketball coach, decide to go on a high school-style bender. (Hey, grief takes all forms.)
"Grown Ups 2" would mark the first sequel to one of Sandler's projects. Hopefully he doesn't get any ideas about "Just Go With It 2," "Jack and Jill 2," "The Waterboy 2"... ("Happy Gilmore 2" might not be so bad, though.)
